Forty taxi drivers in Dubai have been honoured for returning money and valuables worth over AED 4.7 million left behind by passengers during the first half of this year.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) presented them with the 'medal of trust' for their honesty and efficient handling of riders' personal belongings.
The cabbies expressed their pride in receiving such recognition and said it would motivate them to provide better services.
"Celebrating these drivers is a celebration of the commitment to work ethics and honesty as well as the compliance with instructions and guidance in place," the RTA's Passenger Transport Activities Monitoring Department said in a statement.

It credits the standing cooperation of drivers towards preserving passenger belongings and endeavouring to raise their satisfaction and make them happier, which will render transportation in the Emirate an unforgettable experience.
