Etihad Airways has announced it will end its unilateral codeshare and bilateral frequent flyer partnership with Virgin Australia, effective June 1, 2025.

The move comes as the two airlines pursue different strategic directions.

From the termination date, passengers will no longer be able to book Virgin Australia-operated flights through Etihad’s booking channels.

However, for those with existing Etihad bookings that include a Virgin Australia segment, there will be no changes to their itineraries.

Starting June 1, 2025, Etihad's frequent flyer members will no longer earn Guest Miles on Virgin Australia-operated flights.

Despite the end of the partnership, Etihad remains committed to serving Australia.

For Summer 2025, the airline will increase its flights to both Sydney and Melbourne, offering enhanced service, loyalty benefits, and connections to its expanding global network.
