Samsung offers refund or S7 Edge for Galaxy Note7 users

Samsung Note7 users in the UAE can get a cash refund or a new Galaxy S7 Edge. Samsung Gulf's announcement, which is posted on their official website, comes days after the Ministry of Economy in the UAE ordered retailers to give cash refunds to Galaxy Note7 owners. The difference in price between the Note7 and S7 Edge can be paid out in cash or used to buy Samsung accessories. “We are putting in place a process to facilitate the exchange and refund of devices and will inform the Galaxy Note 7 users of the next steps at the earliest,” the statement read. "Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note7 or replacement Galaxy Note7 device should power down and stop using the device." Korean technology giant announced its decision to stop production of Note7s after reports of its device catching fire emerged during the second recall.
