Amber Heard files for divorce from Johnny Depp

Amber Heard has filed for divorce from Johnny Depp after just 15 months of marriage. The 30-year-old actress reportedly filed a divorce petition on Monday (23.05.16), citing irreconcilable differences, according to gossip website TMZ. The publication claims Amber wrote in the divorce documents that the pair separated on May 22, which was just two days after the 52-year-old actor's mother Betty Sue Palmer passed away. A source told the site that the couple did not have a pre-nuptial agreement in place. Amber - who married Johnny in February 2015 - is said to be seeking spousal support. Johnny and Amber were recently reprimanded by the Australian government for sneaking their Yorkshire Terriers, Pistol and Boo, into the country. The made a cringe-worthy apology video to the Australian government after she pleaded guilty to supplying false documents. At the hearing at Southport Magistrate's Court in Queensland last month, Amber's lawyer Jeremy Kirk told the court she thought Johnny's staff had already dealt with the two dogs' travel documents, adding the documents had "slipped through the cracks". He said: "It was a terrible, terrible mistake. There was no attempt to deceive." Prosecutor Peter Callaghan agreed that Amber's fame had drawn attention to the case but insisted "the laws apply to everyone". Johnny has been filming the latest installment of the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie this year.
