Bollywood actor Salman Khan has acquitted in a hit-and-run case dating back to the year 2002. The Bombay High Court today overturned his conviction by a lower court and dropped all charges against him. In May this year, the trial court had sentenced Khan to five years in jail after finding him guilty of allegedly killing a man with his SUV after a night out drinking. In its verdict the high court today said that the prosecution failed to establish beyond doubt that the actor was driving and was drunk at the time of the accident. The 49-year-old superstar reportedly broke down after hearing the verdict.
