Liam Payne and Cheryl make red carpet debut as a couple

Liam Payne and Cheryl made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Global Gift Gala on Monday evening (09.05.16). The One Direction star and the 'Crazy Stupid Love' hitmaker stepped out at the event in Paris, France, where Cheryl is to be honoured with The Global Gift Philanthropist Award for her work with her charity Cheryl's Trust. The 32-year-old beauty stunned in a salmon pink halter-neck dress whilst Liam, 22, looked sharp in a black suit. Meanwhile, Cheryl was also reunited with her "twin sister" Eva Longoria, who is honorary chairman of the Global Gift Gala, at the event. The 41-year-old star wowed in a fitting white dress, complete with sparkly embellishments. Meanwhile, Cheryl previously spoke of her excitement about being honoured with the award. After the announcement, she said: "I am honoured to be this year's recipient of the Global Gift Gala Philanthropist Award. "I'm proud of where I grew up but I'm only too aware of the challenges that young people face. I want to give back and help young people who feel like they'll never achieve anything reach their dreams and live a happy life." And during the event on Monday (09.05.16), Cheryl is reportedly keen to just be referred to by her first name at the event as it is the first public event she has attended since she split from estranged husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini. A source said: "Cheryl wants to wipe the slate clean and start afresh with a new name, now the divorce is going through. Things turned pretty nasty over the weekend, with both Cheryl and JB making comments on social media, so from hereon in, she will just be known as Cheryl. "Her last album in 2014 was released under the name 'Cheryl', too, but everyone still called her by her new married name. This time around, everyone is under strict instructions that she is just Cheryl, nothing else. Organisers at next month's event were told that all announcements of Cheryl's attendance should only refer to her as Cheryl."
