Trai Byers and Grace Gealey are married

'Empire' stars Trai Byers and Grace Gealey have tied the knot. The real-life couple - who play Anika Calhoun and Andre Lyon in the FOX music industry drama - got married on the Cayman Islands at an intimate ceremony on Thursday (14.04.16) in front of close friends and family. According to website TMZ, the newlyweds' co-stars were not present at their nuptials. News of their engagement broke out in July last year when the 32-year-old star popped the question on Grace's 31st birthday. At the time, a source revealed: "He popped the question, and she was totally surprised and elated. She can't stop looking at the ring! They celebrated all night." However, the couple didn't confirm the news until October, when Grace appeared on live TV showing off her sparkling engagement ring. Speaking to Tyra Banks on her daytime chat show 'FABLife', Grace said: "I think that if you do get involved -- I keep wanting to say on set -- I think that if you do get involved at your workplace you have to know that this is something that you want to be invested in, and this is just not just something that is frivolous and fleeting. "[You have] to have the maturity to say that if this doesn't work out, you're not going to, you know, throw staplers." The couple - who first met on the show in 2014 - are yet to publicly confirm their marriage.
