French police fired tear gas to control crowd as the 14th straight weekend of "yellow vest" protests took a violent turn.
Thousands of protesters threw projectiles and set bins on fire in Paris, Lyon and Bordeaux on Saturday.
However, this comes after a recent poll showed dwindling support for the "yellow vests" demonstrations, which began in November over fuel taxes and transformed into a revolt against President Emmanuel Macron and his policies.
There have also been reports of infighting between leaders, with some outlining plans to extend the weekly protests to Sunday.
