The eighth edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), which wrapped up on November 24, witnessed a record-breaking turnout, drawing over 2.73 million participants, a 14 per cent increase from last year.
The 30-day initiative, which ran from October 26 to November 24, encouraged residents to commit to 30 minutes of daily exercise for 30 days, bringing together fitness enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds.
This year’s challenge was more inclusive than ever, with a packed calendar featuring 30 x 30 fitness villages, community hubs, and a variety of events across Dubai.
Participants flocked to three main fitness villages at Kite Beach, Zabeel Park, and Al Warqa’a Park, where nearly 470,000 people enjoyed free workouts, sports activities, and kids’ zones throughout the month.
DFC also took fitness to local neighbourhoods with 25 community hubs, offering free classes and workouts that attracted over 60,000 people.
Signature events like the Dubai Stand-Up Paddle, Dubai Ride and Dubai Run brought even more residents and visitors together for unforgettable experiences.
Since its inception in 2017, the Dubai Fitness Challenge has engaged over 13 million people, fostering healthier habits and boosting community connections.
Participation in key events has soared, with Dubai Ride cyclists jumping from 20,000 in 2020 to over 37,000 this year, and Dubai Run participants rising from 70,000 in 2019 to a staggering 278,000 in 2024.
Looking ahead, the next edition of DFC will take place from November 1 to 30, 2025, as Dubai continues its mission to become the world's most active city.
