Dubai Municipality has activated an emergency evacuation system for people of determination at Al Mamzar beach, as the city aims to be a leader in inclusivity.

The new system includes headphones with a clear range of the evacuation sites for people with visual impairments. The headsets can also send vibrations that notify people with hearing impairments of the existence of an emergency.

Commenting on the new accommodations, the CEO of the Public Utilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, Bader Anwahi, said, “The emergency evacuation system for people of determination on Al Mamzar beaches is a new achievement that confirms the efforts of Dubai Municipality and its keenness to care for the levels of public health and safety for people of determination, and to provide all services that meet their requirements and needs, in order to achieve its goal of making Dubai the most attractive, sustainable and quality city for life.”

The municipality also introduced new emergency measures in training centres for people of determination, including a comprehensive guide and an emergency tracking device that accompanies them in various places. The device consists of sensors installed in various areas of the center and distributed over specific areas connected to the device, where they notify the person of the name of the area or place he is currently in within the center.

It also includes a tracking device attached to the center’s reception areas to know the location of people of determination in the building in the event of an emergency.
