UAE University honours academics for research achievements

His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to His Highness the President of the State and President of UAE University, has honoured several academics for their research that was published in the top 1 per cent of international journals. 

His Excellency stressed, during his speech, that the UAE University has a long history of excellence and leadership, founded by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

In 1976, his vision was to establish an educational institution that meets the needs of the nation and contributes to its progress and prosperity. The university has contributed and continues to contribute effectively to the path of higher education in the country, and has worked to enrich scientific research and innovation, while maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence.

He expressed his aspiration for the future with a firm vision that the UAE University, the “mother national university”, will be among the leading research institutions in the world, believing that high-quality scientific research is the cornerstone for achieving these ambitions, and that the success of researchers in making their mark in prestigious international scientific journals reflects the level of their work and enhances the university’s reputation globally, which is a tangible measure of the value of their research.

He said that the reputation of the UAE University as a leading research institution depends largely on the efforts of researchers, and their work shapes the future of the university, and their research opens new horizons of knowledge, and works to address local and global challenges.

Twenty-five researchers were honored, including 11 from the College of Engineering, four from the College of Information Technology, three researchers from the College of Management and Economics, and two researchers from each of the College of Science, the College of Education, and the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, in addition to a researcher from the College of Humanities and Social Science
