Mikel Arteta has agreed a new three-year contract with Arsenal that will see him stay at the club until 2027.

The Gunners boss was out of contract at the end of the current season but is expected to put pen-to-paper on the new deal before Sunday's Premier League fixture against North London rivals Tottenham.

Arteta claimed his first major trophy as a manager when he led Arsenal to victory in the FA Cup final at the end of the 2019-2020 campaign.

Since then Arsenal have finished second to Manchester City in the Premier League in the past two seasons.

Arteta made 150 appearances for Arsenal during his playing career and also captained the side.
