Jude Bellingham, the £88.5 million summer signing from Borussia Dortmund, wasted no time in making his mark for Real Madrid as he scored his first goal for the Spanish giants in a pre-season 2-0 win against Manchester United at NRG Stadium.

The match, attended by a crowd of 67,801, showcased the young talent's prowess and provided a glimpse of what he can bring to his new club.

Bellingham's moment of brilliance came just five minutes into the game, setting the tone for his debut with Real Madrid.

The 20-year-old had previously been a target for Manchester United, making his goal even sweeter for the Spanish side. Although he only played for 45 minutes, it was enough for Bellingham to open his account for his new team. Later in the second half, substitute Joselu secured the victory with an acrobatic overhead kick.

United had their chances in the first half, with Mason Mount coming close to finding the back of the net. However, new arrival Andre Onana, making his first appearance for Manchester United, made an impressive save from Joselu to keep his team in the game.

Erik ten Hag, the United coach, showcased some bold team selections, including handing Onana his debut and picking 18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo in midfield. Mainoo had impressed in a previous match against Arsenal, but his evening in Houston was cut short after just two minutes due to a collision with Real Madrid's Rodrygo, leaving the youngster on the ground.

Taking advantage of Mainoo's temporary absence, Real Madrid capitalised when Antonio Rudiger played a long ball over the top, and Bellingham showcased his skill with a superb finish over Onana. There were suspicions of offside, but the goal stood, and Bellingham's joy was evident as he celebrated his successful debut.

Both teams made changes in the second half, but Manchester United's hope of equalising was dashed when Joselu, on loan from Espanyol this summer, delivered a spectacular effort at the back post to beat Onana.
