The UAE defeated Nepal by four wickets in the final to clinch the Tri-Nation Twenty20 International series.

The visitors chased down the 163-run target with a ball to spare in Kathmandu.

After losing the toss and being sent to bat, Nepal posted 162-8 as opener Kushal Bhurtel cracked a half-century (50 off 29 balls).

Aayan Afzal Khan claimed three Nepalese wickets while Ali Naseer and Zahoor Khan took two wickets each.

The UAE took the chase to the final over as Vriitya Aravind (26), Aryansh Sharma (25) and Basil Hameed (22 not out) helped them cross the target in 19.5 overs.

The tournament, which also involved Hong Kong, was aimed at providing quality practice to the teams ahead of the qualifiers for next year’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA.

The three teams faced each other twice in the round-robin format, with the top two sides, UAE and Nepal, competing in the final.

All seven matches were played at the Mulpani Ground in Kathmandu.
