Students and educators in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain can now walk in and vaccinate against COVID-19 at two dedicated centres before schools reopen.
The Al Ain Convention Centre and Mina Zayed vaccination centre in Abu Dhabi will offer both Pfizer-BioNTech and Sinopharm vaccines to students aged 12 and above.
They will run from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and remain open until October 31, with visitors having an option to receive the first, second, and booster doses, as required.
One parent will be permitted to accompany children below 18.
"With students aged 16 and above requiring vaccination to return to face-to-face in-school learning for the new academic year, the new vaccination centers are designed to make the process as easy as possible and facilitate a smooth return to school for the entire education community," explained Amer Al Hammadi, Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) Undersecretary.

To receive the vaccine, students are required to present the Emirates ID, Al Hosn app with green or grey status, and Student ID if available.
Educators must provide their Emirates ID, Employee ID and Al Hosn app with green or grey status to receive the vaccine from these centres.
Newcomers to Abu Dhabi have to present their passport, entry permit showing UID, Al Hosn app with green or grey status, and proof of enrollment for students and proof of employment for educators.
ADEK clarified earlier this month that those over 16 years of age must be vaccinated to attend classes in person.
