Fujairah Ruler attends funeral of Tunisian President

Fujairah's Ruler has attended the funeral ceremony for the late Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi on behalf of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The funeral service, which took place at the presidential palace in Carthage, was attended by a number of kings, heads of state, prime ministers and foreign ministers.

His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, expressed his condolences to interim leader Mohamed Ennaceur.

Essebsi was declared dead on Thursday at the age of 92.

He was Tunisia's first freely elected president and came into power in 2014 following the Arab Spring and was the world's oldest sitting president.
