Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed major traffic improvements on Beirut Street.

A new lane has been added along a 3 km stretch, from the intersection with Al Nahda Street to Amman Street, in the northbound direction.

In addition to the new lane, a storage lane has been added at the Beirut and Baghdad Street intersection to better manage traffic flow and ease congestion at the signal.

These upgrades will shorten travel time along Beirut Street, particularly towards the Airport Tunnel and connections to Baghdad Street and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

Residents and commuters in areas like Muhaisnah, Al Qusais, and Al Twar will also benefit from smoother journeys in both directions.

The expansion increases the street’s capacity from 4,500 to 6,000 vehicles per hour in the northbound direction, cutting travel time by over 30%, from 18 minutes to just 12 minutes during peak hours.

This expansion is part of a broader traffic improvement initiative, with over 72 locations across Dubai set for upgrades in 2024, driven by real-time data from traffic studies, control centre analysis, public feedback and field observations.
