The UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated China after the Chang'e-6 probe successfully completed its historic mission on the far side of the moon.

Sheikh Mohamed congratulated President Xi Jinping and the Chinese people on the return to Earth of the lunar probe.

"I wish China ongoing success in furthering our scientific understanding of the solar system and advancing humanity's progress," Sheikh Mohamed said on the platform X.

China's Chang'e-6 probe landed on Tuesday in the northern region of Inner Mongolia, making the country the first to bring back samples from the moon's far side.

These samples, which might hold clues about the origins of the moon and Earth, is the latest achievement of China’s lunar exploration programme.
