President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is set to participate in the 16th BRICS Summit in Russia, marking the UAE's first attendance as a member of the group.

During the visit, His Highness will hold talks with Russian President Putin focusing on ways to strengthen ties, particularly in the areas of economy, trade, investment, and energy, among others.

These talks will be held as part of the strategic partnership between the two countries and will also cover a range of regional and international issues of shared concern.

In August 2023, six new members were invited to join BRICS, including the UAE, which officially joined in January 2024.
