The validity of the Green Pass on the UAE's AlHosn app has been reduced from 30 days to 14 days.
The move comes following a spike in COVID-19 cases in the country.
This means that fully vaccinated individuals will get a 14-day Green Pass after receiving a negative PCR test result.
"COVID-19 is still around. We urge everyone to follow the rules, including wearing a mask in closed spaces, avoiding crowded places and taking precautions while travelling," explained Dr. Taher Al Ameri, spokesperson of the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) during a media briefing on Monday.
A Green Pass is required for entering most public places and attractions in Abu Dhabi.
The changes in the validity period will come into effect from Wednesday, June 15 for the general public.
Meanwhile, for students and those employed in the education sector, the changes will be brought into effect on Monday, June 20.
