UAE to build $20 million eye-care hospital in Uganda

WAM

The UAE and Uganda have signed a $20 million agreement to build a fully integrated eye hospital in the city of Entebbe.

This initiative reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to advancing global healthcare services and addressing the medical needs of communities across Africa.

The deal was signed by Sultan Mohamed Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, and Vincent Bagiire Waiswa, Permanent Secretary of Uganda's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The project is part of the UAE's Erth Zayed Philanthropies, which aims to establish 10 specialised hospitals within a decade to address the needs of underserved communities and improve access to healthcare infrastructure.
