Afghan Police have launched an investigation after nine homeless drug users were gunned down in Kabul on Sunday.
According to reports, unidentified gunmen targetted the men, who were sleeping in an open area "at the side of the Qrough mountain".
Authorities have blamed lack of social services, unemployment and easy access to drugs for fuelling drug abuse in the country.
It comes a month after the Interior Ministry announced the arrest of five top police officials, including the head of Kabul's counter-narcotics force, for suspected involvement in drug trafficking.
