Registration for government schools to open

Registration for academic year 2025-2026 in government schools is set to open on February 10 and run until March 7, the Ministry of Education announced.

The Ministry has urged parents to complete registration during the set time period to allow for organized planning for the provision of textbooks and transport.

Those who fail to register within the given time slot will fall under conditional registration. Applications will be considered on an indicual basis according to availability of seats at students' respective geographic areas. 

Registration can be made through the ministry’s official website or through its smart application.

The Ministry has set the age of admission in the various educational stages, as the first kindergarten accepts children born between 01/09/2020 and 31/08/2021 who have completed four years of age on August 31 of the year in which they are admitted, while the second kindergarten accepts children born between 01/09/2019 and 31/08/2020 who have completed five years of age on August 31 of the year in which they are admitted, and the first grade accepts students born between 01/09/2017 and 31/08/2019 who have completed six years of age on August 31 of the year in which they are admitted and are not more than 8 years old.

The Ministry called on parents to review the comprehensive guide for registering students in government schools for the next academic year, which sets out the criteria and requirements for accepting students’ registration in the aforementioned categories, in addition to accepting students in the general and advanced education tracks provided by the Ministry, as well as accepting students with disabilities, for whom the Ministry has allocated several criteria to ensure their integration into the educational environment according to best practices, by visiting the official website of the Ministry of Education.
