Rescue officers in Dubai could soon be using futuristic jetpacks to save people from building fires and accidents. Reports suggest Dubai Civil Defence has signed an agreement with New Zealand-based firm Martin Jetpacks, for delivery of 20 manned and unmanned machines. These can be operated by a single pilot for 30 minutes, between ranges of 30-50 km, at an altitude of 3000 feet. A jetpack, which resembles a civilian drone, allows for rapid deployment, and can also be used for surveillance. Dubai will be the first place in the world to use jetpack technology in emergency situations.
