Dubai has shut down two shops and issued warnings to 21 others for flouting safety directives issued to combat the spread of COVID-19.
No fines were issued, with the Dubai Economy (DED) adding that 1,380 businesses were found to be fully compliant with the rules.
According to the new directive, all shops must operate at 30 per cent of total capacity, not run promotions and place social distancing stickers in the store. They must also ensure that staff and shoppers wear masks and gloves at all times.
Residents are urged to report violations through the Dubai Consumer App, their toll-free number (600545555), or their website.
