With the participation of 46 officers from 31 countries worldwide, Dubai Police has launched the first edition of the "Police Innovation and Leadership" (PIL) Diploma.
The first of its kind in the region, the programme includes eight subjects designed to advance skills in leadership, innovation, and future security sciences.
The specialised course features lectures by 30 internationally recognised specialists, and totals 586 training hours over 16 weeks.
The inaugural event is a collaboration between Dubai Police's General Department of Training and the Rochester Institute of Technology in Dubai.
Brigadier Badran Saeed Al Shamsi, Acting Assistant Commandant for Academic and Training Affairs, emphasised the launch aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, to achieve excellence, leadership, and global competitiveness for Dubai.
Al Shamsi noted that it follows the directives of His Excellency General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, aiming to highlight the General Command of Dubai Police's excellence in human resource investment at both local and global levels.
It supports the UAE's ambition to be at the forefront of innovation and development, aligning with the national goal to become one of the best countries in the world by the UAE Centennial 2071.
Brigadier Mohammed Ateeq Thani, Director of the Training Centers Department at the General Department of Training and Project Director, stated that the PIL diploma has attracted police leaders worldwide.
"It underscores Dubai's status as a pioneering global city in security, innovation, and quality of life. The PIL diploma covers three main pillars: academic program, specialised training, and quality of life."
