His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has reviewed the ambitious cultural district project, planned within the Azizi Venice community in Dubai South.
The initiative is set to enhance Dubai's cultural and artistic landscape and drive innovation in the creative sector.
It aligns with the Dubai Creative Economy Strategy, supporting the leadership's vision of transforming the emirate into a global capital for creative industries.
During the review, Sheikh Mohammed received a detailed briefing from Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments.
The cultural district will feature various state-of-the-art facilities, including an opera house, a theatre, exhibition halls, and a performing arts academy.
These venues are designed to attract international artists and creatives, enriching Dubai South with a vibrant mix of cultural activities and experiences.
Mirwais Azizi highlighted the project's role in supporting artists and entrepreneurs, providing a platform for showcasing their work and developing their skills.
At the heart of the district is a 2,500-seat opera house designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, featuring advanced acoustic and visual technology.
Additionally, a 400-seat theatre will host a range of performances and workshops, while spacious exhibition halls will accommodate diverse local and international exhibitions.
The district will also include a dedicated performing arts academy, aimed at nurturing future talent and enhancing Dubai’s dynamic cultural scene.
