The UAE is launching humanitarian and development initiatives to achieve security, peace and stability in areas of turbulence around the world.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) made the statement in a review with the Board of Directors.
Sheikh Hamdan said AED 766 million has been spent on ERC programmes at home and abroad from January to September.
Over 180 million dirhams have been distributed to 2 million people within the UAE.
Additional funds have been provided for those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The programmes carried out under this framework numbered 305, benefitting 26,159 people.
The cost of the projects launched outside the UAE amounted to AED 583,751,531, including AED 87,944,163 for relief programmes and operations in several countries, while the value of its international development projects amounted to AED 257,265,728.
An additional AED 238,541,640 has been spent on development projects abroad.
